Kenya is set to reap big after 18 Netherlands-based companies arrived in Kenya for a week-long trade mission.
The Dutch-based delegation of companies which primarily focuses on the life and health sciences sector will hold its trade mission in Nairobi and Kisumu counties from October 14, 2024, to October 17, 2024.
The trade mission aims at enhancing trade investment and partnership between Kenya and the Netherlands.
This trade mission will provide participants with a broad overview of the Kenyan healthcare system through site visits to healthcare facilities in the selected counties.
Delegates are also set to engage in seminars, panel discussions, networking and match-making sessions to enhance compatibility after which they will meet key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Monday, Vice Minister for Foreign and Economic Relations in the Netherlands, Yvette van Eechoud reiterated its country’s strong commitment towards collaboration and innovation in the healthcare sector through partnership with Kenya.
“To provide effective and affordable healthcare to our citizens, international partnerships need to create innovative solutions that are customized to local settings. Which is exactly why such a strong delegation from the Dutch healthcare sector has arrived with me in Kenya,” Yvette said.
The Vice Minister attributed Kenya for its entrepreneurial and innovative population, lauding it as one of the striking factors that make it a popular destination for Dutch companies.

The mission is focused on exploring business opportunities in Kenya’s health sector, particularly emphasizing digital healthcare innovations, biomedical technologies and financing models that improve access to healthcare.
Besides the desire to foster new business opportunities, the mission also aims at strengthening public and private sector alliances to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the healthcare sector.
