Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya will on Saturday host President William Ruto at his homecoming ceremony in Butere, Kakamega County.
Oparanya said the President will first attend a church service in the area around noon.
He said all residents are welcome at Mabole Primary School for the ceremony.
“As you are all aware, when a President goes to a place, security is tightened. Those who will be at Mabole Primary School will not all be allowed at this home for the reception,” he said.
He said there will be just about 200 people at his home, as per the directives from State House.
The CS added that those who will be allowed at his home will be notified in advance.
“Those who will come to the home will be required to have a card to get in. That is the arrangement,” he explained.
Oparanya said he is expecting about 7,000 people at Mabole Primary.
“There will be enough food for everyone. I have been given so many bulls until I said enough. I have been given over 30 bulls for slaughter,” he said.
Ruto dissolved the Cabinet recently and constituted a new one that accommodated members from the Opposition.
He appointed ODM’s former deputy party leaders Hassan Joho and Oparanya, former national chairman John Mbadi and ex-National Assembly minority leader Opiyo Wandayi to his Cabinet.
The four ODM leaders were, until their appointment, some of Ruto’s fiercest critics.
