Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has attended a memorial service for Mai Mahiu flood victims.
The event is being held at Mo Gas Grounds in Mai Mahiu, Nakuru.
Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika accompanied Gachagua.
Other leaders are Ann Wamuratha (Kiambu), Martha Wangari (Gilgil), Mburu Kahangara (Lari), George Koimburi (Juja) and Simon King’ara (Ruiru).
Others included Kamande Mwafrika (Roysambu), Jane Kihara (Naivasha), and Mary Wa Maua (Maragua) among others.
The Mai Mahiu tragedy resulted in the loss of 60 lives, with 51 individuals still unaccounted for and 52 others sustaining injuries during the events that transpired last week.
Naivasha MP Jane Kihara congratulated the government for its immediate action in preventing further incidents.
She urged residents to be on watch out during this rainy season.
“We are happy to have deputy president here to condole with us and we are happy,” Kihara said.
