The French Embassy in Nairobi on Sunday marked its National Day, known as Bastille Day.
The day is celebrated worldwide to commemorate the historical significance of the French Revolution and its impact on the global advancement of democratic ideas.
France Ambassador to Kenya Arnaud Suquet hosted the colourful event at his residence in Peponi Gardens.
The event, which was under the theme of the Paris2024 Olympics was attended by senior government officials led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and Foreign Affairs PS Korir Sing’Oei, among others.
Foreign delegates and diplomatic mission representatives were also present.
During his address, Ambassador Suquet condoled with the families that lost their loved ones during the recent demonstrations.
Bastille Day also serves as a reminder of the fight for liberty, equality, and fraternity, making it a meaningful occasion for reflection, celebration, and patriotism.
