A suspected thug was shot and seriously wounded in a botched robbery incident in the Komarocks area, Nairobi.
Police said one of the officers who tried to arrest the suspect and his two accomplices was stabbed and wounded in the drama on Wednesday evening.
The police officer was stabbed with a penknife on the left rib, right lower chin and left thigh.
This prompted the other officer to shoot the suspect in the right thigh exiting at the back, police said,
The penknife with a wooden handle was recovered.
Two other suspects were arrested and 21 rolls of Cannabis Sativa were recovered from them respectively.
The injured officer and the suspect were rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for treatment and discharged in fair condition.
The police had been alerted that a gang of three was terrorizing locals prompting the operation.
The suspects were expected in court, police said.
Police are looking for gunmen who raided a petrol station at Adams Arcade off Ngong Road in Nairobi and robbed attendants of oil products valued at about Sh500,000.
The gang arrived at the facility on Thursday morning in a car and asked where they could get a cup of tea.
It was then that the gunmen stepped out of the car, pushed the pump attendant into a room there and ordered him to lie down.
They tied his hands from behind and three other men joined them at the salesroom where a variety of oil products are sold.
Police said the gang packed several oil products into a sack and loaded them into their vehicle before driving off.
A team of detectives has been sent to pursue the gang behind the attack.
And police are investigating an incident in the body of one Joseph Kyungu Mwendwa, 71 was found in his house in Matungulu, Machakos County.
This was after one sidewall of her house wall collapsed on him.
The body was found buried under the rubble.
The body was taken to Nguluni mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.
