Baby Sagini’s grandmother Rael Nyakerario, his aunt Pacifica Nyakerario and cousin Alex Ochogo have been found guilty of causing actual bodily harm.
While delivering her ruling, Kisii Senior Resident Magistrate Christine Ogweno questioned what kind of people would be so heartless to gouge out the baby’s eyes and later put them in a sack under the bed.
“There’s so much he will never see again. One wonders what kind of people these were, who were so heartless to gouge out a child’s eyes, put them in a sack and under the bed,” Ogweno said. She further wondered how the three went about their activities, even partying over a local brew, chang’aa, while Sagini was bleeding out from the eyes.
