Uhuru joins senior state official at Episcopal ordination of bishops

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday joined senior state officials at St. Mary’s Msongari, Nairobi.

They have come together to witness the Episcopal ordination of Bishop-Elect Simon Peter Kamomoe and Bishop-Elect Wallace Ng’ang’a.

The event has brought together leaders from across the political divide.

Some of the leaders who graced the occasion include Uhuru, Chief Justice Martha Koome, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

Others who were present are Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Leader of the Minority at the National Assembly Opiyo Wanyi and Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi

Episcopal ordination confers the fullness of the sacrament of Holy Orders.

It makes the bishop a legitimate successor of the apostles and integrates him into the episcopal college to share with the Pope and the other bishops care for all the churches.

The occasion also confers the bishop the offices of teaching, sanctifying, and ruling.
